Not only do I love writing my travel blog, but I also love reading other peoples’. It was this (along with my friends telling me for weeks to go for it), that persuaded me to start Adventures of Alice.  

Blogs are how I get inspiration for my trips. They’re how I plan what to do in new destinations and it’s so nice to learn from others’ travel experiences. Reading travel blogs is a great place to do this!  

These are the best travel bloggers of 2019. I would love to thank all of them for the excellent travel tips, and also for giving me the guts to start doing something I love!

The 20 best travel bloggers 2020 and who to watch

Nomadic Matt

Nomadic Matt has been around forever and is one of the biggest names in travel blogging. He’s also one of my absolute favourites!

He focuses on budget travel and has helped me plan my upcoming trip to Thailand, taught me about travel hacking and aims to show everyone the real side of travel, which I totally love about him.

Definitely one of the best travel bloggers of 2020, be sure to check out his guide to travelling around Thailand.

The Blonde Abroad 

The Blonde Abroad is the perfect combination of fashion and travel.

Kiersten is one of those people who manage to look good in anything she wears! She quit a boring corporate job (something I can totally relate to) and has now been travelling for over 5 years.

In that time she’s visited over 70 countries, focuses on solo female travel and is literally a force of girl power to be reckoned with!

She also organises her own (girls only!) tours and is also a master photographer – her recent guide on how to shoot in manual mode is seriously useful for any budding photographer.  

Be My Travel Muse

Kristin is a California native and an incredible solo female travel blogger.

She’s had some unbelievable adventures including a solo hitchhike across China, over a month-long African safari and 2 months in Patagonia. Kristen is also the author of ‘Conquering Mountains’, which she quite literally has done!

Be My Travel Muse will provide you with guides for over 40 countries. Kristin also offers tour groups and a super great photography course – perfect if you’re looking to start seeing the world through a lens. 

The Planet D 

Dave and Deb are so great! After a 7-month trip around South-East Asia, and a heck of a lot of adventures, The Planet D is now one of the top 10 travel blogs according to Forbes!

From amazing destination guides from over 70 countries to some truly inspiring tales, these guys are incredible storytellers and will literally show you that ‘adventure is for everyone’. 

Goats on the Road

Nick and Dariece are a Canadian couple who left their home in 2008, determined to make a living travelling.

Now their blog helps others find work while travelling and they are the authors behind ‘101 Ways to Earn Money and Pay for Travel’.

They’re the ultimate guide for living that ex-pat lifestyle and without a doubt some of the best travel bloggers of 2020! Goats on the Road will definitely inspire you to book that one-way ticket. 

Hand Luggage Only

Yaya and Lloyd are another two of my absolute favourite bloggers. Also, Cambridge natives (like me!), their blog was also born on a sunny afternoon at Cambridge Uni.

Funny and super informative, the pair focus on travel inspiration, advice, food and photography tips. In fact, their blog itself is one huge photography tip as the photos literally make you want to drive the airport immediately!

Practical Wanderlust

Another favourite of mine, Lia and Jeremy never fail to make me laugh!

If you enjoy exploring off the beaten track then these guys are for you! Totally down to earth, they will speak their mind and they’re also not afraid of embracing their corny couple’s cuteness.

Practical Wanderlust is a mixture of budget hacks, guides to more unusual destinations and travel tips that nobody tells you, with a serious side of sass!

Expert Vagabond

Matt is a self-proclaimed digital nomad, adventurer and professional photographer.

His blog is a serious adrenaline-fuelled adventure, from exploring Iceland’s ring road to trekking the Arctic circle to camping on an erupting volcano, he is definitely not afraid to go out of his comfort zone!

He’s worked with some incredible brands like Travel Chanel and Lonely Planet and writes backpacking guides, photography tips and super helpful resources for any travel and adventure addict!

I am Aileen

Aileen is a super sweet Filipino native who quit her job at 21 to travel the world. Today she is an award-winning travel blogger and vlogger, one of the best travel bloggers of 2020 and spends her life doing what she loves!

Aileen aims to inspire others to travel the world and also help those in need around the globe. She mostly travels solo, writes super detailed itineraries, food guides and also covers anything to do with immigration.

Her life goal is to travel to every country on a third-world passport and eventually start her own charity to help those in need around the world! She’s a true female backpacker and an absolute inspiration! 

Ordinary Traveler

Christy and Scott are another the absolute best travel bloggers of 2020. They follow the same motto I do and also love their home too much to ever be a permanent nomad.

They provide travel guides and helpful tips for people with limited holiday dates, those who work full time and those wishing to travel as much as possible around ordinary life.

They’ve helped thousands of people over the last 10 years, and want to inspire others to live life as adventurously as possible.

Alex in Wanderland

I love everything about this blog, from the funky design to the name. I also love the raw honesty and humorous style of Alex’s writing.

A New York native, Alex tells inspiring travel stories and is super skilled in photography, graphic design and scuba diving.

Whether you’re looking for an incredible underwater adventure or a relaxing travel retreat, Alex in Wanderland is a great place to start.

Dan Flying Solo

Dan is a super-skilled blogger who has worked with huge brands like Lonely Planet BBC Travel and Skyscanner.

Also from the UK, he is an ex-hospitality worker (like me!) turned travel guru with a love for meeting new people and exploring. He is an amazing writer and even better photographer and has published beautiful photos all over the internet.

Never Ending Footsteps

Lauren is an absolute delight to read and also one of the most accident-prone people I’ve ever seen! Her blog is bound to make you giggle and she’s dubbed herself the unluckiest traveller in the world!

But bad luck aside, she is also one of the realist bloggers out there. Lauren writes some really great budgeting articles, helpful guides and summaries of different countries. She tells it like it is and I love her for that.

A Broken Backpack

Melissa is one of those people that you love as soon as you read one post! She’s been travelling since 2014, and her blog focuses on long term travel.

Originally from Canada, she’s also lived in Asia, Australia and the UK!

This girl seriously knows her stuff and her recent article about visiting Chiang Rai has been such a great help for planning my trip. 

Anna Everywhere 

This Polish girl isn’t lying when she says she’s been everywhere! Having travelled to all 7 continents, visited over 85 countries and lived in 8, she seriously knows her stuff!

She also covers everything, from travelling with kids since she became a mum, to travelling with pets to travelling solo.

If you like photography, Youtube and gorgeous waterfalls, then you’ll absolutely adore Salt in Our Hair.

Hannah and Nick are a stunning creative couple who’s blog blossomed from Instagram. They have worked with some huge brands like GoPro and CNN Travel and their blog is only getting better.

Whether you’re after destination guides, presets and top photography tricks or travel tips, these guys will certainly have you covered.

My Life’s a Movie 

Alyssa Ramos is a totally gorgeous Florida Native and GoPro selfie master!

Writer of ‘10 Tips For Getting Travel Photos With No People In Them’, she’s visited over 100 countries and all 7 continents. This is truly an incredible feat in itself!

She’s also a true adventurer having climbed Kilimanjaro, walked the Great Wall of China and dove the Great Barrier Reef, there’s literally no mountain too high for this girl! She’s one of my inspirations and best travel bloggers of 2020.

Legal Nomads 

Jodie has combined two of my favourite things in the world – travel and food!

An ex-lawyer she spends her time exploring every corner of the globe and taking stunning food photography that will make your stomach growl! She writes some seriously useful advice and is one of those girls who won’t sugar coat things (honestly not a food pun) and tells it how it is.

All her travel advice is from her own experience and she’s written for the New York Times, Nat Geo and Business Insider.

Camels and Chocolate

I totally love Kristin’s laid-back attitude and brilliant writing.

A super cool journalist, she really knows the secret to becoming a successful writer. She’s interviewed some pretty amazing celebrities including Taylor Swift – wow! She’s also written for some huge brands including Nat Geo and Marie Claire and has visited 87 countries to date!

Kristen is definitely one to follow, as she has some serious girl power and I can’t wait to see where she’s off to next! 

The Wandering Quinn 

I absolutely love Ellie! After following her on Twitter I quickly realised she’s the type of girl who will go everywhere that I’m just that little bit cautious to!

I love reading all of her adventures and she’s certainly made me want to travel to some places that I never otherwise would!

Since leaving London behind, she’s visited over 50 countries and has no intention of stopping. She also runs her own group tours and is most certainly one of the best travel bloggers of 2020.

The Culinary Travel Guide 

As the name suggests, Laura focuses on finding the absolute best places for foodies while travelling.

From street food to Michelin stars restaurants, she’s had some incredible food experiences all over the world and has made it her personal mission to share these with us!

Laura shares her collection of recipes and gives honest reviews of hotels and restaurants. She also offers guided food walks so you can taste your own way around some of the best cities in the world! 

The Navigatio 

Nele is a Dutch ex-pat and travel lover who moved to the UK at 18 to pursue a career of writing.

Now she runs the Navigatio full time and writes great guides, travel tips and recommendations for mid-range travellers.

She’s also written for some great brands like British Airways and Here it from Locals.  

Passports and Parenting 

Clarissa is a super fun mum of two and the face behind Passports and Parenting.

Her ultimate goal is to help parents explore all of life instead of trying to juggle everything! Plus, Clarissa has totally embraced the art of spontaneous adventures!

She has partnered with some great brands such as Mariott and LEGOLAND Discovery Philidelphia. She’s also a bit of a Disney expert and can (as her first website suggests) most certainly explain it all! 

Girl with the Passport 

Kelly is a self-claimed quirky solo female traveller and New York native whose dream is to travel the world.

After quitting her job in search of a more meaningful life (I totally hear you there, Kelly!), she’s travelled around North and South America, Europe and Asia.

From Bangkok to Paris, she really knows her stuff and will definitely give you the inspiration to live your dreams.  

Spin the Windrose 

Abbi is a total doll and complete travel addict. After living in France and Italy for a year, she then went on to spend 3 years backpacking around Asia, New Zealand and Europe! She’s now back in the UK, running Spin the Windrose around her full-time job.

Abbi focuses on responsible travel on a budget and is super-hot on eco-friendly living. She helps people reduce waste while travelling and preserve as much of our beautiful planet as possible.

To say we need more people like her in the world would be a total understatement! 

Stoked to Travel 

Claire is one of my all-time favourite people and I absolutely love Stoked to Travel.

Chasing a rather severe case of wanderlust, Claire has lived in Australia, France, Ghana as well as the UK where she’s from. She’s visited a total of 60 countries across the globe and, like myself, has mastered the art of travelling around full-time work.

I love finding out what she’s been up to next and reading her guides to London and the rest of the world. 

Elizabeth Everywhere 

Originally from the USA but now living in London, Elizabeth is a millennial travel writer and blogger.

Elizabeth Everywhere was born during her time studying in Paris and she just hasn’t been able to put down her pen (or keyboard) since!

Elizbeth writes detailed travel guides, food and lifestyle pieces and has also written for big publications like Fodors.
