Why I Love the Level 8 Suitcases – an Honest Review
If you’re considering buying a Level 8 suitcase, then you’re in the right place. Level 8 luggage is some of the most durable and well-made that I’ve seen.
Plus, I love the colours – the bright yellow case is pretty snazzy!
I own two Level 8 suitcases – the Road Runner Pro and the Voyageur 30″ Checked case. I recently took the Road Runner Pro on a little trip to Wales, and this article is all about how I got on.
Admittedly, this case isn’t bright yellow! But it has a whole load of nifty features that make it one of the most unique carry-ons I’ve tried.
So, here’s everything you need to know about Level 8 suitcases.
About Level 8
Level 8 is a US-based company that specialises in creating stylish and practical luggage. They have won several awards for their cases, and pair great design with practicality, durability, and function.
Level 8 suitcases are designed for today’s travellers. They are for people who are always on the move, chasing new experiences and destinations.
So, whether you’re travelling for work or adventure, their cases are built to make the journey as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Level 8 Luggage
Whilst I do own both a Level 8 carry-on and a large checked suitcase, I normally only travel with carry-on luggage.
I’m not a fan of checking in my case as I’ve heard so many horror stories of cases going missing on flights, and this is something I never want to experience. So, my normal suitcase set-up is carry-on only.
This means my expectations for my carry-on luggage are pretty high.

The case needs to be durable, needs to be able to handle multiple trips per year, and it needs to be able to fit plenty inside it. If I’m travelling for two weeks with a carry-on case, I need the room!
Level 8 luggage comes in all shapes and sizes. You can buy everything from a large 99-litre checked bag to a small 43-litre cabin case.
Their standard size for checked luggage is 28”. But they also go up to 30” and down to a 24” and, in some models, a 26”.
They have a range of options to choose from when selecting your case, and you can find the perfect make, model, and size for your needs.

Speaking of models, they have a lot of choices when it comes to this as well!
Most of their cases are hard shells. I personally prefer this, as I feel that soft shells are too susceptible to damage.
But, as well as the standard hard case, they also go one step further and offer virtually unbreakable, zipperless cases made of aluminium.
Some of these pack a pretty hefty price tag. But, they’ll most certainly keep your belongings safe and last a long time.
Level 8 has put a lot of thought into their luggage, both for quick business flyers and people heading off on two-week-long adventures.
Their cases have ultra-smooth spinner wheels, thoughtfully designed interiors, TSA-approved locks, and expandable compartments; their luggage effortlessly balances style with serious practicality.
The attention to detail and quality of their cases is one of the things I love most about Level 8 suitcases.

The two cases that I own are the Road Runner Pro Carry-On and the Voyageur 30” checked case. Let me tell you a little more about them.
Pros of the Road Runner Pro Carry-On
There are lots of things I really liked about this case and a few that I’m not so keen on. After taking the case on a 3-day trip to Wales, here’s my honest opinion.

One of the reasons I chose this carry-on case was the front compartment. This easily pops open with a button, and you can use it to store electricals.
It has a dedicated laptop sleeve as well as slots for things like power banks and charging cables.

As a travel creator, it appealed to me very much to be able to easily whip out my laptop when I needed it without having to open my entire case up in public.
The case also has a USB port on top, which connects to the power bank inside the front compartment. Being able to simply plug my phone into the top of my case instead of having to faff around finding a charger was incredibly useful.

This is one of my favourite features of this case.
Cons of the Road Runner Pro Carry-On
Now, for the less positive things.
The primary downside for me was the interior capacity. Because of the front compartment for electricals, you actually lose some of the internal space.
While it was still roomy enough for my 3-day trip, any longer, and I would probably have struggled to fit in everything I wanted to bring.
I also do a lot of hiking, and I don’t know if I would be able to fit my hiking boots in the case with everything else I had packed for that trip.
However, if you’re not packing bulky items or aren’t going on a long trip, this case would be ideal. I think for a short business trip, it would be perfect.
The only other negative I found with the case was that you have to be careful which items you put in the front compartment. If these are too bulky, then the corner pops out a little or doesn’t close properly.

I managed to fit my full-size laptop, purse, and power bank inside, and it just fit with all my clothes as well. Any more and it wouldn’t have closed.
Despite this, I found the front section of the case really useful – I just wish it had slightly more room and didn’t compromise the internal storage of the rest of the case!
Key Features of the Voyageur 30” Checked Case
We haven’t tested the Voyageur 30” case in a real travel scenario yet, as we just haven’t been anywhere where we’ve needed checked luggage. However, these are my thoughts from observation and a test pack that I did at home.

The trolley handles are designed to save room, positioned on the outside of the case instead of inside. This makes a huge difference. You don’t have to arrange your clothes around two huge poles, which is a major plus for space.
I also love the front handle, which makes it a lot easier to carry. The design is very sturdy, you can tell that it’s been well-made, and the hard shell will protect your belongings.
While it doesn’t have a USB port, the TSA-approved locks are another great feature for safety and protection.
Inside, you have plenty of space, and I love the number of pockets. The wet/dry compartment is super useful, as I never know where to put wet clothes like swimwear if they aren’t quite dry before my flight.

Plus, the two zipped compartments are useful for keeping your things separated.
Overall Thoughts of the Level 8 Cases
All in all, I’ve been genuinely impressed with both the Road Runner Pro Carry-On and the Voyageur 30” Checked Case from Level 8. They’re stylish, thoughtfully designed, and clearly built with modern travel styles in mind.
Admittedly, there are a few minor trade-offs, like the reduced internal space in the Road Runner Pro. But, the convenience and features easily make up for it, especially for shorter trips or business travel.
In my opinion, Level 8 has done an excellent job creating luggage that looks good, feels durable, and makes life on the move that little bit easier.
If you’re in the market for a new suitcase that combines smart design with functionality, I’d definitely recommend checking out their range.
A big thank you to Level 8 for sponsoring this post and for creating such great cases. I’m excited to take them on many more adventures!
