the 16 best travel Gifts for Adventurers
Trying to find a gift for travellers or someone who’s always on the road can be even trickier. Partly because there’s just such a wide choice of amazing travel gear and partly because it’s even harder to work out what they’d actually use!
Buying gifts can be hard especially for people who always travel! Here's the ultimate gift guide for travellers to treat that travel lover in your life.Go Pro Hero 8
I always take my Go-Pro with me when I travel and it’s one of the best travel gifts for adventurers. Great for action shots, videos, underwater footage and comes with a range of different add-ons, a Go-Pro is an adventurer’s necessity. The new Hero 8 is waterproof, weatherproof and, despite its tiny size, packs a powerful punch of vlogging necessities. It shoots in 4k, the wide lens means you can get loads in the and it is ultra-portable, taking up more or less no space at all in your backpack.
Go Pro Accessories
Essential for getting all sorts of Go Pro pics in a range of locations. Do you want a tripod, underwater case, selfie stick, head-cam? There are some great options to enhance your adventure photography even more.
travel Backpack
When I travel, I want to see absolutely everything so I tend to do a lot of walking! Having a good quality backpack allows me to prepare for any occasion when I’m out and about, without always having my hands full. The comfortable straps also prevent your back from hurting after a while and the durable material to protect your travel essentials on a hard day exploring.
Amazon Kindle with Alexa
A Kindle can be a lifesaver on long-haul flights. Especially those day time ones when you’re not particularly tired so they just draaaaaag! With the ability to hold up to 3000 books, this is the perfect accompanier for any adventurer and well worth adding to this travel gift guide.
Waterproof Toiletry Organiser
Nobody likes a shampoo emergency (to quote Ross Geller) when you open your bag. This handy organiser is one of the best travel gifts because it keeps all your toiletries in one place so that nothing ends up leaking on your stuff. It’s washable, waterproof and easy to clean, meaning you never have to worry about any toiletry leaks again.
Mini Drone
Dones are becoming all the range with travel photographers now and gone are the days when those amazing aerial pictures are impossible to take. The DJI Mavic Mini is the perfect drone for beginners, with great quality but without the great price tag of the bigger drones. This is one of the best travel gifts out there and I just know that anyone who receives this will LOVE it!
Wireless Headphones
Another long hand flight essential, headphones are so necessary for when you just want to block out everything and chill. Wireless headphones are super useful as you avoid any tangled cable emergencies and these come with a super handy wireless charging case. Plus, it means you can charge your iPhone whilst listening to music.
Portable Wifi Hotspot
I know it’s a sweeping statement but I’ve never found hotel WIFI to be particularly reliable. Either continually disconnecting or taking so long to load that I end up giving up. Lots of EU countries (especially European cities) allow free roaming when you’re out and about, but what about when you travel outside the EU? Or when you eat through all your data? A hotspot gives you the ability to stay connected wherever you are, even out and about. My favourite is Skyroam. Seriously easy to use and well worth it if you plan on travelling a lot.
The Perfect Carry On Case
I love choosing a suitcase set. My favourites are Hershel, American Traveller and It Luggage which are all lightweight, and easy to wheel around. This means I can fit more in and even when it’s full, it doesn’t weigh a tonne, so I don’t have to struggle. This Hershel case has a strong outer shell too to prevent any damages at the airport!
Packing Cubes
Packing can easily be one of the hardest parts of a trip. You can end up stuffing too much in your bag and then it becomes a complete mess and you can’t find anything. These packing cubes are one of the best travel gifts, will help to keep everything organised, plus they’ll save you so much space.
Bluetooth Speaker
I love a good old sing in the shower! Especially when I travel as it puts me in an extra good mood. For travelling, I prefer a Bluetooth speaker to a WIFI speaker, so I recommend this Bose speaker as a sound option (see what I did there?). It’s also waterproof too, so it is a great option for those pool or beach days!
Comfortable Trainers
I do a lot of walking when I travel. Actually, I do a lot of walking all the time as there are some great walks in my local area. But, in the past, I’ve worn the wrong shoes. It got to the point where I was hobbling about and absolutely HAD to sit down. Which, as you can imagine, kinda ruins things a little. So, I’ve learnt my lesson and a good pair of comfortable shoes really is a must if you want to do a lot of sightseeing. I love my Nike trainers. They’re comfortable, durable and machine washable so literally everything you will need as a traveller.
Phone lenses
A common pain of the travel photographer is lugging around all your DSLR gear all day. These phone lenses give your smartphone camera a lot more flexibility, aren’t heavy and don’t take up a lot of room in your bag.
Lonely Planet Travel Guides
I love Lonely Planet and use them for a lot of my trip planning. Their guides are super informative and another perfect travel gift.
Travel Pillow and Eye Mask
Another long-haul must-have, a good travel pillow is totally essential for a comfortable sleep, especially if you’re flying in economy. I love this as is supports my head from all angles and comes with a 3D eye mask and earplugs which will block out absolutely everything.
Travel Scratch Map
I absolutely love my scratch map and it makes the perfect end to a trip to cross off another country! This is the perfect gift for any explorers and another of my favourites on this gift guide for travelers!

These are great suggestions! I would like to get myself some of these items, especially that drone! LOL. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks! 🙂 I recently bought myself one and cannot WAIT to use it on my next trip!
I’ve used several Lonely Planet guides and found them useful. I like the scratch off travel map, too, I’m just afraid I wouldn’t get to scratch off at the rate I would like!
I literally love the Lonley Planet Guides, I think they’re brilliant. I love my scratch map too, always gives me inspiration for my next adventure 🙂
These are some really great ideas. I was needing a great gift idea for my father in law who is traveling around the world in January!
Aw thank you! And oh that sounds awesome, where’s he off to?
I really think it’s time for me to get a Kindle. I’ve been resisting this for way too long, but it’s the future.
Definitely go for it! It’s the time of year to treat yourself – buy yourself a Christmas present too 😛
Awesome list! I always love browsing lists like these, both for myself and my girlfriend.
Thanks and me too! I always end up with a bunch of new ideas 🙂
Great ideas! I have those sneakers and they make SUCH a difference even for just running around airports!
Tell me about it! Airports and heels don’t mix! Trainers all the way 😀
Go pro 8 is my best choice…
Love these ideas! The hotspot is so key and I wish I’d had one on previous travels. I’d also never seen the lens for cellphones – so cool!
I know, I totally love them! And the hotspot makes everything so much easier 🙂
These are amazing suggestions and so I will probably hint for some of these to be bought for me. I especially like the idea of phone lenses as I would like to take better quality photos without having to consider purchasing a DSLR which may be heavy to travel with but equally very delicate to be placed in luggage!
I totally agree! I’m not a fan of carrying heavy bags around with me all day when I travel, so they’re definitely worth it!
So many great ideas. I have a Go Pro and it’s a must when your travelling
Awesome list! Love the scratch map idea!
Thank you! Me too, mine is hanging on my living room wall! Can’t wait to cross off more places! 🙂
Those phone lenses are genius. Have you basically disavowed your DSLR? I’m considering it.
I prefer a mirrorless camera personally as I find them much more compact and easier to travel with than a DSLR. I love Fujifilm’s X series, and the phone lenses are super useful! 🙂
Those packing cubes and the toiletry bag look fantastic, there are a lot of great products here! Thanks for putting this together.
Thanks, and no problem! That toiletry bag was a recent discovery of mine and I LOVE it! Before I was just flinging everything in a big washbag, but it’s so nice to be able to put things in order 🙂
This is a great list with some unique items!
I like your list.
For the drone I would recommend the Contixo F22 model as a beginner drone. Another good reco is JBL Flip 4. It was selling for $59 on Black Friday.
Oooh I’ve not tried those myself but thanks so much for the tips 🙂
Hah! My husband and I are the travelers in the family, and this list is fabulous—only problem is now I desperately want half the stuff on it. 😭 Nicely done!
Haha, thank you! That’s exactly what I’m like, too! Every travel product I ever see online I want! 🙂
These are exactly the things that I need in my life. I wish some loved one was reading this so that they could gift me. Haha.

Haha, you should send it to them as a hint 😉
I am a traveler and this is a really nice collection of gifts, for every budget. I would be very happy to receive lenses for my phone, I think they are so useful.
Thanks! I was definitely going for every budget range 🙂
What a lovely list! I need a new carry-on case. I hadn’t thought about a waterproof toiletry bag and the portable wifi spot is so important!
Yes, wifi spot is essential! 😀 I get totally addicted to suitcase shopping! I love looking at funky designs and just adore this range!
Packing cubes! I didnt know they were called that, but they look really cute in a set of 3 especially. Great gifting inspiration!
What< Go-Pro Hero 8 exist already? LOL that's crazy.
Tell me about it! They release new ones so fast! 😮
What a great gift guide list for travellers, I’d love to have one of that GoPro as well but the best that I like is the waterproof toiletry organiser and the portable wifi hotspot hoping to get one this christmas!
finding good quality items that actually solves a problem or simplifies a process to gift for an avid traveler is always super challenging. This will definitely take it down a bunch of notches on the challenge scale.
This makes me so excited to be in Europe this year! Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
No worries! I love travelling to Europe! 🙂
The photo lenses are a really creative gift idea!!
They are definitely a lot more convenient than a bulky camera!
